What to include in your request
- Your return mix: rough counts of individual, partnership, S-corp, C-corp and other returns
- How many business clients arrive with books that need cleanup
- Your tax, workpaper, bookkeeping and portal software, and how remote access works
- Whether you want help only in season, through extension season, or year-round
- How your firm reviews work today, and who would answer questions
What happens after you send it
A service partner reviews your request and replies by email or phone to arrange a call. Afterwards you receive a written scope covering tasks, volumes, access and security terms, and the review handoff. You can adjust it or decline.
Preparing for the first call
Read security and compliance for outsourced tax work and note any consent or security questions your firm wants answered. If you're unsure which tasks to hand off, the tax-season calendar shows where support usually fits.
Questions about requesting a scope
Do we need exact return counts?
No. Rough numbers by return type are enough for a first reply, and the partner will ask follow-up questions on the call.
Can we ask for one task only?
Yes. Many firms start with a single task, such as bookkeeping cleanup or document indexing, and add more after the pilot batch.
What if we're not sure support is a fit?
Choose "Not sure yet" in the form and describe your season. The written scope is a proposal, and you can decline it.
